The Postpartum Wing at Home™

Who is in your corner and how can they help?

Belly Fresh helps Moms understand their maternal and postpartum support picture. That means seeing who is in their corner, how each support can help, and how to make that support work in real life at home.

Belly Fresh is a maternal and postpartum coordination system. We provide nonclinical household coordination. The current entry window is pregnancy through six months postpartum for Hampton Roads, Virginia households.

Through that coordination, Belly Fresh works to:

When Support Exists, But It Doesn’t Feel Connected

During pregnancy, families are often encouraged to prepare for birth. Far less attention is given to preparing for what everyday household life may require after the baby arrives.

Support may exist and still not apply to your household, be currently available, be accessible, be usable in your real life, or work as expected.

You may still be trying to understand:

Every Mom and household deserves a system of support.

Belly Fresh helps Moms see their full maternal and postpartum support picture, understand how each support can help, coordinate the support they choose, and confirm whether it is working in real life at home.

For Moms and Their Households

What Belly Fresh Is

Belly Fresh is a maternal and postpartum coordination system. We provide nonclinical household coordination. The system is built around one household-specific Five-Layer Support Picture.

The five layers are: Clinical & Institutional Support; Maternal Support; Specialist Support; Home Support; and Access & Funding.

Full visibility across all five layers comes before you choose priorities. Seeing something in your picture does not mean it automatically applies, is available, is accessible, is usable, or is working for your household.

Household Eligibility

Belly Fresh currently serves approved Hampton Roads, Virginia cases that begin during pregnancy through six months postpartum. Capacity is limited during the controlled rollout.

How It Works

SEE: Belly Fresh helps you see your full Five-Layer Support Picture before you choose what matters most.

ORGANIZE: You choose no more than three priorities for Belly Fresh to actively coordinate at one time. Other needs stay visible and can be revisited later.

MOVE: Belly Fresh helps Mom move forward with the support she chooses by coordinating the people, access steps, and next actions involved.

CONFIRM: Belly Fresh follows through to understand what happened, what worked in real life at home, and what still needs attention.

Belly Fresh leads the coordination process. Organizations and providers remain responsible for their own services and decisions. The household leads its choices.

Belly Fresh Does Not Replace Your Support.

Belly Fresh complements providers, organizations, benefits, care coordinators, community health workers, family support, and community resources.

Those people and organizations remain responsible for their own services, eligibility decisions, benefits, access rules, and results. Belly Fresh coordinates around the household without duplicating their work.

Belly Fresh does not provide medical or clinical care, therapy, emergency or crisis response, doula services, lactation care, childcare, cleaning, transportation, food, or direct household labor.

Belly Fresh does not guarantee outside services, benefits, eligibility, funding, sponsorship, provider availability, access, acceptance, or outcomes.

Household Pathway

A Belly Fresh household can look many different ways. It may be a first-time Mom preparing for life after birth, a Mom welcoming another baby after many years, or a household adjusting after a baby arrived earlier than expected. It may be a Mom with little family support nearby, a military family new to Hampton Roads or navigating a deployment, or a household with providers, benefits, programs, phone numbers, and referrals in front of them but no clear understanding of how the different pieces fit together. Support may exist around the household, but Mom still needs help seeing the full picture, organizing what matters most, and moving the right next steps forward.

Household FAQs

No. Belly Fresh begins by helping make the full Five-Layer Support Picture visible. You do not need to arrive with your priorities already chosen.

No. You may have no more than three active coordination priorities at one time. The limit keeps active work clear and manageable; it does not narrow the full picture.

They remain visible and can be revisited later. Belly Fresh does not hide or erase them because they are not active priorities.

No. Support may exist but not apply, be available, be accessible, be usable, or work for your household. Belly Fresh helps clarify and coordinate; it cannot guarantee an outside party’s decision, capacity, or result.

No. Belly Fresh is nonclinical and coordination-only. Providers, organizations, benefits, care coordinators, community health workers, family members, and other support owners remain responsible for their own work.

No. It begins the Household Interest process but does not guarantee participation, acceptance, service, sponsorship, funding, or a sponsored placement.

Belly Fresh may not be able to support your household if you are outside the current Hampton Roads service area or entry window, if Belly Fresh is at capacity, if what you need falls outside our nonclinical coordination role, or if we cannot establish a workable way to coordinate together. The Interest and Alignment steps help determine whether Belly Fresh is the right fit and currently able to support your household.

Partner With Belly Fresh

Stronger household support begins with stronger coordination.

Your organization may already provide valuable care, services, education, benefits, programs, or resources to pregnant and postpartum households.

Belly Fresh works alongside existing providers, programs, and community resources to help households understand what may apply, move through access steps, organize next actions, and follow through.

How Belly Fresh Works Alongside Your Organization

Your organization remains the expert in the care, service, program, benefit, or resource you provide.

Belly Fresh supports the coordination around that work by helping households:

Our role is coordination. Belly Fresh does not replace your organization’s expertise, determine eligibility, or take over the services you provide. We help households move more clearly through the support around them.

Submitting the Partner Interest Form begins a conversation.
It does not automatically create a partnership, referral relationship, endorsement, or service agreement.

Founder Story: Built From a Real Gap in Postpartum Support

When I had my son 15 years after having my daughter, he arrived earlier than expected. Honestly, I was not ready at all. I had to piece together my support picture myself using what I knew and what was made available to me.

Now, while building Belly Fresh, I am uncovering layer after layer of support that I should have known about then. Nobody took the time to explain what was actually available to me or help me understand where to turn. A link, phone number, or referral is not always enough during a life-changing event.

All of this has shown me that support can exist and still be difficult to see, understand, access, or connect in everyday life. People do not know what they do not know.

I built Belly Fresh to help mothers and their households see their full support picture, organize what matters most, and move through the support around them.

If I had to build my own system of support, every mother deserves one.
